Black coffee helps millions of Americans and people of other nations wake up in the morning, stay alert or relax. My stock broker of many years would tell me "Rodd, I like my coffee like I like my women, black and strong!" (his words not mine) Well I am not sure if it will help in this situation or not, but America needs to wake up. Tonight our 44th President Barry Obama spoke to the nation. As everyone knows (unless you have been under a rock or you watch the MSM for your news) Barry is trying to push through an $800 billion dollar stimulus plan to jump start the economy. If you have been paying attention to this bill you know that Republicans are against it (so am I) and most of the Democrats are for it. I must add that there are three Republicans for this bill in the Senate (Arelen Specter PA, Susan Collins ME, Olympia Snowe ME). In this recession America needs their "black coffee". This time the coffee is needed to wake up most of America (those who are not cast under Obama's spell) and to those of us who are paying attention to stay alert! Obama is trying to spend over a trillion dollars ($800 billion plus on this stimulus legislation and $350 billion in left over TARP money) in his first 30 days in office.
Just to recap a few of the items in the bill that are supposed to save or create 3-4 million jobs.
- Weatherization for houses $6.2 billion dollars
- $88.6 million for new construction for Milwaukee Public Schools (Milwaukee Journal Sentinel "schools have shrinking enrollment".
- $1 billion for Amtrack (have not turned a profit in 40 years)
- $650 million for digital tv conversion boxes (for those who love to procrastinate)
- $20 billion in food stamps (place your on snide remark)
I could go on, but I am not sure how these pork projects are going to create or save 3-4 million jobs. Black coffee, drink it because we are going to have too keep an eye on this one.
